Many aspects of our lives are now being optimised and powered by technology and recently I discovered a brand called AMP Skincare Technology that uses this technology for skin care – that’s right!! SKIN CARE!! I don’t think I’ve come across anything quite like this before trying out AMP.
AMP is an Australian technology innovator that is adapting medical science to provide effective skin care solutions. AMP ws founded by Will Knox and Jeff Reid – an aussie tech duo who have developed wearable medical devices and regenerative medical therapies. Just like their medical projects, AMP is all about science, innovation and results. The duo discovered that microbatteries can be integrated into wearable patches to amplify the effect of skin care products via a process called iontophoresis – and thus AMP was born.
AMP consists of two things: a microbattery powered patch and a hyaluronic serum that when combined reduce fine lines by boosting hydration and firming the skin. The micro battery within the patch is paper-thin, flexible and completely wireless. When the patch detects skin heat and moisture the microbattery activates automatically. The patch then sends a mild microcurrent into the skin to allow the hyaluronic serum’s effect to be optimised via iontophoresis – a proven modality for medical and cosmetic applications. Below is my review and experience with using AMP Skincare Technology Eye Device Patches.
First we need to ensure all makeup is removed from around the eye area where we will be applying the eye patches. The next step is to apply a liberal amount of serum to the grey areas of the patch. This process is quite easy because of the brush head that the serum comes in. The patches then turn black and once all the areas have been covered with the serum you can remove the stickers from the back of each patch. You then apply to your eyes and wait for 20 minutes. During this time I felt a slight tingle from the patch which was quite normal and not painful at all. A little bit of redness also can happen but it goes away after 30 mins. The immediate effect I saw was that the area was well hydrated and felt plump. What do you think? Would you try it?
