As many of you may know I’m currently documenting my lipo cavitation journey and am on my second week (read about my journey here). During the 10 week journey I wanted to find other things to combine with the lipo cavitation treatments with to obtain the most optimal results. Recently I was introduced to Lux Allure Beauty. This boutique offers a unique treatment in their infrared sauna.
If you’re like me you probably have never heard of this thing called infrared sauna before. So what is it exactly? An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to create heat. A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body. An infrared sauna heats your body directly without warming the air around you.
The appeal of saunas in general is that they cause reactions similar to those elicited by moderate exercise, such as vigorous sweating and increased heart rate. An infrared sauna produces these results at lower temperatures than does a regular sauna.
Several studies have looked at using infrared saunas in the treatment of chronic health problems, such as high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, headache, type 2 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, and found some evidence of benefit. no adverse effects have been reported with infrared saunas. No adverse effects have been reported with infrared saunas, so if you’re considering trying a sauna for relaxation, an infrared sauna is the best option.
Just a recap on lipo cavitation: After disruption of adipose cells, the fat in the form of triglycerides is released into the interstitial fluid between the cells, where they are enzymatically metabolised to glycerol and free fatty acids. The water soluble glycerol is absorbed by the circulatory system and used as the energy source, and the insoluble free fatty acids are transported to the liver and processed as fatty acids from food. That means they are eliminated from the body via your bladder. This means that it’s super important to make sure that you’re consuming plenty of water to help your body release the toxins.
When I read about this I immediately thought that infrared sauna treatments would be great to combine with my regular weekly lipo cavitation treatments. Not only will it assist in removal of toxins through sweating them out, it will also help your muscles relax, burn up to 1000 calories in 30 minute sitting alone and did I tell you, you can even be on your phone and listen to music inside the room. It’s definitely a different kind of sauna experience you NEED to try!
The process takes a total of 40minutes (in the sauna) and about 5 minutes to change prior to the treatment and you can opt to take a shower after the treatment (you’ll be pretty sweaty). You change into a towel and you have the option of changing the color of the lights (each color has different benefits). After 40 minutes of sweating out the bad toxins you take a nice shower and everything provided is chemical-free. Below is a color chart of the benefits of each different color.
