Are you ready to move on from 2017’s Millennial Pink takeover? Get excited because these upcoming colors of Spring 2018 are going to rock your world! Pantone notably picked these 5 colors and we are totally ready !
One – Bright bright yellow
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but yellow is starting to take over the industry. I noticed it starting in the last quarter of 2017 but this is definitely THE color to watch out for in 2018. Especially with it being summer right now in Sydney and spring soon to be coming up in New York you can definitely expect a huge array of vibrant yellows. Notably one of my favorite upcoming looks which will be released in February 2018 is Nicky Zimmermann’s Spring/Summer 2018 range (below, left). Chanel (below, middle) also picked up on the yellow trend and paired it up with another upcoming trend – plastic/PVC – those shoes are something to watch out for too in 2018. Another amazing look is notably from Ulla Johnson (below, right) – the combination of pastel and bright yellow is so on point.
Two – Blush and coral pink (not to be confused with Millennial Pink)
Millennial Pink may have been the IT color of 2017 but the pastel’s are making their way back in 2018. Blush and coral pink are never out of trend and it makes no exception 2018 where they rule the Spring/Summer 2018 runway. Think icecream tones because these cute pinks scream SUMMER! Marchesa’s Spring 2018 blush gown (below, left) paints the perfect color palette. Who could say no to that dress? Another notable look is Elie Saab’s coral combo (below, right).
Three – Lavender dreams (my personal favorite)
It’s been a while since lavender/lilac has been trending but these purple hues are the go to pieces of 2018. Almost every designer has incorporated this soft, beautiful color into their designs for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2018. Another elegant gown by Marchesa (below, left) combines the pretty florals with the soft lavender making it a perfect choice for a classy evening. Victoria Beckham’s gown (below, middle) makes for a stunning choice with it’s simplicity. My personal favorite from the lavender range has got to be Valentino (below, right). The casual yet chic vibe that this multi toned lavender outfit brings is so fitting for Spring.
Four – Bold reds
Red is a color that will hardly ever die out. It’s a color full of passion and perfect for transitioning from day to night. This color palette screams out party and Zuhair Murad has perfectly embodied the word party with the stunning dress (below, left). Taking a more casual approach Valentino’s signature red makes an appearance in the Spring 2018 runway (below, right).
Five – Shades of green
Everything ranging from pastel green to lime green to forest green will be on trend in 2018. I’ve never been a great fan of green but I’m pretty sure Balmain’s intricate design (below, left) has left me speechless and in a good way. That skirt is to die for. Dion Lee (below, right) also emerged with a simplistic green skirt which screams elegance and class. Another personal favorite is Chanel’s (below, right) tweed game. The mix of different shades of green in tweed form is something to look forward to.
